Book Review: Simple Recipes for Homemade Facial Scrubs and Body Exfoliants

Okay, not my usual book review, but an attempt to make your lives more wonderful too.

In my attempts to pamper myself during a retreat week I gave myself, I pledged to make my own healthy skin products. One of the books I purchased was Simple Recipes for Easy Homemade Face Scrubs and Body Exfoliants (All Natural Cosmetics Book 3) I made the Peppermint Foot Scrub. It was a wonderful treat for my crusty feet. đŸ™‚

Here’s the recipe:
1/3 cup sea salt
1/3 cup baking soda
4-5 T olive oil
15 drops peppermint oil
5 drops tea tree oil

Mix salt and baking soda, gradually add olive oil and stir until you have a slightly wet, but grainy consistency. Add the Peppermint Essential Oil and Tea Tree Oil.
Massage the homemade foot scrub in a circular motion into bottoms of feet. Rinse and dry feet.

I soaked my feet in a foot bath I purchased years ago, but hadn’t been using. Afterwards, my feet were soft and I felt like a princess.

I will try to contact the author and get permission to share a few other recipes. I love this book because most of the ingredients are even more common than the ones in the foot bath. Many use ingredients that most of us keep in our kitchens, and yet the products they produce are luxurious.
