Today was an amazing day. REALLY amazing! I have photos of all the Pittsburgh Dinosaurs from “Dinomite Days” in 2003 except for the Duquesaurus. Getting a photo of it was a pretty big deal for me, not only to complete my collection, but because I have multiple degrees from there, my husband and son are graduates, and my children and I participated in their City Music Center. I tried to locate it a couple of years ago without success. This time, I wrote the director of admissions who jumped right on it, getting several departments involved on my behalf. The short version is that the ground supervisor called me and offered to take him out of storage, clean him up, and put him out anywhere on campus that I wanted him. WOW!

He is temporarily on the Academic walk in from on Canevin Hall where he was last on display I believe. He is slightly damaged and not being supported, so can easily fall right, so I doubt he will be there for long.

I thought it was about a photo, but seeing people of all ages smiling and really enjoying the surprise of finding the dino there made my day, maybe even my life. It was also an amazingly beautiful, sunshiny day. My cousin Bea went with me, and told everyone the story beginning it with, “This is the person responsible for the the dinosaur being here today”. I think the story got bigger each time it was told. 🙂 What an amazing natural high!

Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit really means something today. Only some divine intervention (and some wonderful people)  could have made this happen quite this way.
