Danica Bennett isn't sure what she hates more…her job or the fact that she's good at it.  As one of the many Hollywood paparazzi, she lives her life incognito and sneaks around trying to get the best shot of the latest star.  When she is mistaken for an extra on a new, up and coming TV show, her own star rises and she becomes the one being photographed.  Add that to the fact that she's falling for her co-star, Eliot Lane, and Danica is in a whole heap of trouble.

Brooke Williams writes in a sleep-deprived state while her daughters nap. Her romantic comedy is best read in the same state. Brooke has twelve years of radio in her background, both behind the scenes and on the air. She was also a television traffic reporter for a short time despite the fact that she could care less about hair and make-up. Today, Brooke stays at home with her daughters and works as a freelance writer for a variety of companies. When she isn’t working for paying clients, she makes things up, which results in books like “Accept this Dandelion.”  Brooke is also the author of "Accept this Dandelion," “Wrong Place, Right Time,” “Someone Always Loved You,”  “Beyond the Bars.” She plans to continue the Dandelion story into a series and looks forward to her first children's book release “Baby Sheep Gets a Haircut” in June 2016. Brooke and her husband Sean have been married since 2002 and have two beautiful daughters, Kaelyn (5) and Sadie (nearly 2).

Praise the Lord cover
My third book,Praise the Lord(Psalms in the Key of my Life Book 3), is featured on Choosy Bookworm’s website today.

Here are excerpts from a few of the reviews:

“Once again Carol has written a beautiful book regarding the Psalms 101 – 150 bringing it to a modern approach but not losing any of the Biblical idea of the book. I am sorry this series has ended as it is written so beautifully; it is like Carol has written a piece of art. ”

“I received this book in exchange for an honest review. These musings are simply beautiful. I devoured them way too fast and now plan to go back and read them much more slowly and really take time to process them. They make the themes more vivid and part of daily life.”

“I have a library of books about the psalms because I love them–most of them–well, some of them. These 150 poems from an ancient culture and civilization are often difficult to get into. When I saw Carol Moye’s reflections on the psalms, volumes I and II, I hoped they would help me dig into my own psalm library. They did, especially volume II because that volume covers so many “dark” psalms; but Volume III reads like one joyful song of praise.

The day I received Volume III I treated myself to a couple of reflections before sleep but didn’t stop until I finished the book. The following day I read the book through again with a bible in hand. But I recommend a first read-through before study so you can experience the feeling of the glorious message of the psalms as a whole.

On my first reading I found myself sometimes chuckling with delight: “Get your hairs ready” and “I feel like I have been Stretched–like–taffy”, Ouch! Sometime tears came: “Instead of giving me What I really deserve . . .He tosses my sins Into the deepest ocean.” Psalm 137 is one of my favorites and the reflection on that psalm was especially moving to me: “How can we sing our songs For those who torment us?”. Sometimes I was laughing and crying in the same psalm.”

Grateful for my Daughter, Alana

Written By: carolmoye - Jun• 24•15

I am so impressed with my daughter, Alana Nicole. She went to the Three Rivers Arts Festival every single day (there were ten days including two weekends). She spend all day there on weekends, and went every weekday after work. She was on assignment for the Feel Like Going On blog that I manage. She knew I wouldn’t be able to go everyday, nor shoot for hours on end, so she volunteered to do it for me. Not only did she capture almost every African-American artist at the arts festival, she then went to the Pride Fest, and although she learned about it late, also covered the Juneteenth Celebration in Market Square, all of which happened simultaneously on Sunday, June 14th. The following weekend (June 19-21) was the Pittsburgh Jazzlive International Festival. She also went to every one of those concerts, taking tons of photographs. She’s amazing. Thanks Alana.

Make sure you visit the “Feel Like Going On” blog. You’ll find a few of my images there, and tons more from her.

Here’s a video with images she took of the Attack Theatre performance that took place on Sunday, June 7 at Gateway Four Plaza.
Warning: The video has a music track.

Acoustic Journal: Doug Hamer

Written By: carolmoye - Jun• 12•15

When I was writing my the second book of the Psalms in the Key of my Life series (Unfailing Love), I was looking for musical inspiration and found this album “Acoustic Journal: by Doug Hamer on Magnatune.com. I loved it! It inspired me so much that I matched the lyrics I wrote for Psalm 92: “Sabbath Song” to his track, “Come the Rain”. (Hit the play arrow, top left to listen to the album”).

Acoustic Journal by Doug Hamer

Sabbath Song

(To the tune of “Come the Rain” by Doug Hamer)

Psalm 92

Verse One:

Breathing in your spirit

Basking in your love

Bathing in the beauty of your creation

Building a healthier me

Verse Two:

Taking time to write a song

To strum on my guitar

Tickling the ivories

Tooting my own horn

(I am) Taking time for me

(Finally)Taking time for me.

CHORUS:

Singing my Sabbath song

Joyous the whole day long

Finding rest for my weary spirit

(Repeat)

Bridge

I am like a palm tree blowing in the wind

Swaying back and forth again, and again, and again

Solidly planted with super strong roots

I sway and sway all day

The sweetest fruit I am able to produce

As my troubles fade away

Verse Three:

Hope and Faith become renewed

Helping me to grow strong

Healthy and lively I sing my song

How the Lord’s been good to me

Chorus

Chapon’s Greenhouse

Written By: carolmoye - Jun• 10•15

CorettaScottKing StPatIn addition to photographing flowers in my neighborhood, and at botanical gardens, I stopped by my favorite garden store, Chapon’s Greenhouse (on Streets Run Road in Pittsburgh) where they graciously permitted me to photograph a few flowers. Mark, one of their managers, is very knowledgeable and always greets me with a smile. In fact, most everyone I have encountered there knows a great deal, and is willing to help with plant selection and advice. They have one of the best selection of roses I have seen anywhere. I have selected four of my favorites: The St. Patrick Rose, The Coretta Scott King Rose (above), The Fragrant Plum Rose and The Susan Williams Rose (below) . I wish I could have brought all four of them home with me. I’m seriously thinking about going back for at least the Coretta Scott King Rose.

PlumSusanWilliams

They have a great selection of herbs, vegetables, annual flowers, houseplants, perennials and shrubs as well as wonderful organic products and birding supplies. To top it off, they have the cutest cats anywhere. Anything you can imagine for your garden is right there along with wonderful people who are eager to answer any questions you might have.

Here’s another link to their website in case you missed the one in the first paragraph: Chapon’s Greenhouse website.
